Ryden was incredibly lucky that she was short. No seriously; Ryden was really lucky. The flames jumped out of Julian's hand with no warning whatsoever. Was he trying to kill her too? The man was sadistic...he was terrible...he was like her. The flames lashed out at the man's gunhand, licking right through her jacket and shirt, stinging her side instantly, but Ryan barely had a chance to address that pain when the flames spirted out again and jumped at the man's face. The girl threw herself away from the man, who was now legitimately on fire. All the while, Julian thrust his hands into his pockets and pretended like nothing went on.
The scene was so familiar. Ryden put her eyes on Julian, a fear unlike any she'd ever worn evident in between the specks of hazel and yellow filling them. It had been years ago...but it had been what put her in the hospital the first time...the anger at her parents...the rage toward a girl at school who pushed things too far...it had forced her to retaliate and the spoon she had been holding in the school cafeteria turned to something else...the girl had been injured. Ryden shook her head, ridding her mind of the thoughts. The man's screams filled the air again -- but Ryden did not know what to do now...she did not want to look Julian in the eyes. Would he just stand there and watch his victim suffer?

OCC: Logan is now a telekinetic. It just felt right. Sorry all. It has been changed in the Creation thread if it needs to be approved again.
Logan smiled as his crusted hand grabbed that of another, and their bodies moved together in a man-hug, which really isn't any kind of embrace, just a pat on the back, and then a retreat back to one's own personal bubble. Badger, his only real friend, stood on the other side of Logan's bubble in this instance, as Logan chuckled at the bald black man standing in front of him. His eyes wandered up and down the middle-aged ex-football player until he came upon his eyes, slightly blood-shot and wired. He sighed, and lay down the money for the cigarettes, "You know what all that crack is going to do to you, don't ya' mate?" His monotone voice was barely audible, but it reached Badger's ears nonetheless, sending almost a giggle back towards Logan. "Says the fool who smokes three packs a day," he said, setting down 5 cartons on the counter. "We'll see who dies first."
Badger walked Logan back towards the door of his convenience store, as he asked casually about Logan's "love life", when suddenly a burst of flames came out from the alley to the right of the shop. Badger ran towards the phone, his immediate reaction being a fire, dialing 911, as Logan strolled out to check out the commotion. He pulled out a cigarette spotting four people in close vicinity, and stood there eying them, his fix locating the girl first, hoping she would fill his craving for the night. But he was getting ahead of himself...
"Two things," he said, putting the stick up to his mouth, "I would run because we just called the bloody coppers, and two... I could use a light, so wherever that fire came from, do it again." He chuckled dryly at his joke, and began planning his moves on Ryden. She was independent, he could tell that, and needed not a smooth talker. No... she needed something else...

Julian had no intention of staying to watch the man suffer, there was no time for that. Instead he grabbed Ryden roughly by the arm and dragged her back with him. Holding tightly to her wrist he pushed past a few onlookers and took a sharp right down a one way street. He did not leave time for them to stop or anyone to catch up. Once on the street he turned down a narrow alley and they ended up back on the road where they parked the motorcycle. Just a few yards now and they could hop on the bike and ride away.
"Hurry, there's not much time before the cops show up"
He said to Ryden in a rush, encouraging her to practically jog down the street.
-ooc-mika maybe your charrie could tail Julian/Ryden on his bike to their next stop.

Without warning, Julian seized Ryden and began to drag her away from the scene. But like most burns, the stinging did not set in until minutes after the flames had gone away. She cried out, but had barely any time to notice as the wind hit it, soaring past them as Julian raced through the onlookers and down the street, Ryden in tow. Finally, they streaked through a small alley and popped out on the other side of the street where Julian's bike was parked. It felt like ages since they had been at the bike.
"Yeah...I--I wasn't planning on moving slow," she said shakily, one hand hovering over the burn, as touching it had proved almost worse than leaving it be, the air biting at it.
Letting go of his hand, she moved at a run along side him until they skidded to a halt by the bike. Her chest was heaving, mind racing. What had just happened? Fire had come from the man's hands....an innocent (okay maybe not exactly innocent) man had been engulfed by them. Judging on the pain Ryden was feeling now, the man must have been in absolute agony. How could someone willingly inflict that upon someone else? Someone who knew that the person deserved it. said a small voice in Ryden's head, a voice she had been desperately trying to push away for years.
